My
Job

I find
my job as computer teacher to mentally handicapped children at the Polytechnic
University both enjoyable and demanding. Some students are very lovable.
Although they are not too smart, they are naive and follow instructions well. On
the other hand, some are very naughty, and can create havoc for you. Some are
very bad tempered. They can scare you so much that you dare not touch them.
Overall, they deserve to be treated in the same way as everybody else in society
for they are not ˇ§aliensˇ¨ or some ˇ§special speciesˇ¨. I think they should
receive even more care and attention from the public. Therefore I usually talk
with them to show my concern during break time even though it helps very little.
As for the job being demanding, Iˇ¦m sure itˇ¦s because I have to work quite
hard. I would like very much to teach them computer skills, but because they
have a handicap, I have to use my entire vocabulary in order to get through to
them, and I also have to force them to pay attention. It is harder to teach them
than anyone else, but because I care about them, I shall continue even though it
is hard work.
